Publication of Great Barrier Reef Research Reports Hi all, pleased be advised that a number of research reports concerning the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area (GBRWHA) have been completed and are now publicly available. These reports were commissioned by the Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities to inform the comprehensive strategic assessment of the GBRWHA and adjacent coastal zone. The completed reports include: • Economic contribution of the Great Barrier Reef • Defining the aesthetic values of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area • Geological and geomorphological features of Outstanding Universal Value in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area • Ship anchorage management in the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area • Environmental best practice port development: an analysis of international approaches There are three remaining reports that are expected to be finalised shortly. The completed reports can be found on the department’s website at environment.gov.au/sustainability/regional-development/gbr.
