Pug Of The Day Merry, female 8 years $125 **Special Needs-Diabetic** Hi, my name is Merry and I am about 8 years old; we arent really sure of my exact age; I could be a little younger. My name? I bet you guessed it, I was named after a wonderful holiday - Christmas. I have a big heart with lots of love to give. I’m a little sensitive to change at first but if you are patient with me, I will warm up in no time. Foster mom made me feel right at home and I came out of my pug shell and now I follow her around everywhere. Foster Mom took me to the vet and they did some tests, and found out I have Diabetes. Foster mom gives me a couple of shots a day, prescription dog food, strict feeding times and I go back to the vet periodically for blood work to make sure everything is working. So far, so good! Since being part of APARN I have lost close to 7lbs. You wouldn’t know it by looking at my pictures, but I love going for walks. To help keep my diabetes under control, foster mom takes me on short daily walks. When foster mom gets out the leash or says walk I can’t get outside fast enough. I’m excited to be able to sniff out the rest of the neighborhood. I also love going for car rides, buckled in safely of course. I also heard her say something about no people food and minimal treats, not sure I like that idea, but if it helps me stay healthy I’m happy. I’m a quiet gentle soul who adores just lounging around with my humans. I’m very content just lying on the floor next to you watching tv, who wouldn’t, I’m a pug. I love laying on the floor in a nice soft doggy bed, when I get real comfy, I end up lying half in and out of it, that’s when I’m really relaxed. I love chewing on the hardest bones possible even though Im missing half my teeth. I get along great with my two foster fur siblings, we just go about our business, not much bothers me. I’m intimidated by the big doggies since I’m a little sensitive, remember. Foster mom didn’t tell you yet but my biggest news is that I’m housebroken. Better than that, I’ve mastered the doggy door too, how does that sound for the perfect pug????!!!! I sleep nicely in my doggy bed with my blanket next to the big bed my foster mom sleeps in, I’m a princess who requires some maintenance, what did you expect. If you have to leave me alone in the house, don’t worry about me, since I’m potty trained I don’t need to be in a crate. Plus I don’t really like to be in that weird box thing while you’re gone. Speaking of sleeping, I hope my new home likes the soothing sound of snoring when you sleep, cause I do a lot of that since I’m a bigger pug. If you can open your home and heart to a young at heart senior lady than hurry up and fill out an application and request to meet me. I look better in person, my photos make me look big.The camera adds 10 lbs after all........... XO, Merry
