Puget Sound Retriever Club is hosting a 2 day clinic on Basic Retriever skills for the Field on May 17 and 18 at their training grounds on the Kitsap Peninsula. (Belfair, Wa) Day 1 will be introduction to the Field, exposing you and your dog to the equipment, theory, field obedience and where/how to get started. NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED! Day 2 will be setting up and participating in a field event similar to a fun match. You and your dog will have the opportunity to see what is involved in setting up a test, working as part of the test committee and running in the test as a competitor. Knowing what to expect when you do get into a test environment is extremely valuable. PSRC is affiliated with North American Hunting Retriever Association (NAHRA). It takes 4 qualifications to get your Starte Dog Title. They will be holding a NAHRA event at the same site as our training on June 7th. For those of you with Tollers - PRSC is hosting a Toller WC/WCI/WCX on June 8th! Marcia Lyons is the NSDTRC-US coordinator for the event and registration forms will be available in the next couple of weeks-- PSRC is als holding a 2 day NAHRA event July 26 and 27. Attending the Clinic and the NAHRA event on June 7 will give you and your dog the opportunity to practice 3 times for the WC tests on June 8 - just a suggestion... If you have any questions, just let us know. Please share with anyone you think may be interested - this is NOT limited to Tollers! Hoping to see you in the Field!
