Pulls on two pairs of thermal hunderpants, padded boilersuit and Russian furry hat (which was running around drinking milk and shouting meow until the snow arrived - my need was greater than his) as its too cold for my customary velvet smoking jacket, clears throat and delivers the following announcement : POWER ISSUES FOLLOWING ADVERSE WEATHER Due to the adverse weather conditions a number of overhead lines are down in the Stanley area. The majority of these lines are connected to street lighting and to Sure. Mains power supplies are generally unaffected, however there are four known properties to the east of Snake Hill that are currently without power - it is hoped that the power will be restored to those properties this afternoon. Repairs are on-going, however priority will be given to ensuring mains power to properties. However it is likely that a significant amount of street lighting will remain off tonight, and these will be repaired as soon as possible over the coming days. If any property finds itself without power please call PWD main office on 27193 as soon as possible.
