Should have in hand independent experience in the pump bearing replacement job Should have independent skill for the replacement of pump mechanical seal Job Description for Mechanical Technician:- Job Purpose & Scope:- 1. Carry out all mechanical maintenance and repair activities either on site or in the workshop on various types of machinery and equipment 2. Receive verbal or written instructions from Engineer/ supervisor / or Senior Technician, obtain specified materials, spare parts and tools. 3. Carry out maintenance, repair and overhaul of a variety of pumps equipment., 4. Participate in periodic inspection of plant and equipment in accordance with preventive and routine maintenance schedules. 5. Dismantle, repair or replace parts, and re-assemble either on site or in the workshop. Carry out appropriate final tests under supervision. 6. Directs and participates in mechanical repair and overhaul activities at any of the company’s onshore or offshore sites or in the workshop. Covers equipment and machinery such as of various type pumps, electric motors, etc. Principal Accountabilities:- 1. Obtains work permits from his supervisor 2. Reviews work assigned and arranges for the necessary transport, material, tools and equipment to complete the task. 3. Participates in the work as necessary and in the diagnosis of faults of a more complex nature. 4. Inspects and tests completed work to ensure that it has been carried out in accordance with requirements and that equipment performs satisfactorily before being handed back to operating section. 5. Carries out assigned routine and preventive maintenance, including replacing work or damaged parts and arranging for test runs as necessary. 6. Checks that replacement parts are available in store. Refers to his supervisor for fabrication/repair in workshop, if parts not available. 7. Issues comprehensive daily activity reports outlining the cause of faults, the nature of the work and the materials, labor and time taken to complete the task. 8. Ensures that all tools and test equipment are kept clean and serviceable. 9. Advises his supervisor of spare parts requirements. 10. Ensures that all maintenance activities are conducted within company standing instructions and procedures and good oil industry practice. 11. Performs other similar or related duties such as providing training to newly employed technicians. 12.
