Punch Line Poet By Nate Spears Published 2013 in “Food For Thought” by Nate Spears (Facebook Poetry Page) The fighter in the punch line poet will never die A mind spoken with truth, will never lie Bringing verbal virus to flow Like mankind, Destroying all unnoticed and un-focused On man-time Enabling horror Disabling terror Reaching underneath the beast To show a mirror Concealing inside him, considered the best An open heart produces; an open chest But the cranial produces the smarts Never forget. In the sight of the un-notice Drama dries In the minds of the weakened Purpose dies Reflecting a mirror Reflecting the sky Bringing aboard; a self-high. If defeat is your commitment Retreat is to be admired Forgiveness is just a digit So many have lost their lives To senseless deaths No open eyes Blood shed is here; the end is now On earth as is in heaven Now Amen.
