Pune is the place to be, to get into the thick of Ganesh festivities. And in Pune, Kesariwada is the epicenter. Always was. Always will. Long before commercialization, like everything else, took over the festival; Lokmanya Tilak had transformed this largely private family celebration into a tool for social and political reform. Kesariwada is where it all started. On a visit to the Kesari wada or Tilak wada, got an opportunity to walk around, soak in the atmosphere, see the printing press where the Kesari is still published, the work area of the great leader, interact with the editor, and most importantly, was fortunate to hear Dr Rohit Tilak and his views.
