Punjab State Conference The Punjab State Conference was held on 21st December at Barnala. Due to extreme cold conditions all over Punjab, the rally and public meeting planned for 20th had to be cancelled. The district conferences were already held at Bernala, Sangrur and Ludhiana districts. 23 delegates elected by these district conferences and one comrade from Mansa district participated. A presidium consisting of comrades Ramesh Gautham, Lanh Singh and Makhan Singh conducted the conference. After remembering the martyrs and singing International, the conference was inaugurated by Party GS com. KNR. Following this, comrades KNR and Umakant presented the draft documents from the CC, on which discussions were held. Then the state report was presented by com. Labh Singh, which was adopted after serious discussion. After adoption of the state report incorporating many proposals, the new State Organizing Committee was elected comprising eight members. The newly elected committee reelected com. Ramesh Gautham a secretary. Delegates and observers to the Party Congress were also elected. The state conference decided to expand the party at state level and to focus activities during next two months on making the Party Congress at Lucknow a great success with the participation about 500 comrades in the rally on 25th February.
