Punk Rock Weekend Fun Fact: The trumpet intro to Gorilla Biscuits 1989 LP Start Today has become synonymous with that record, leading into the guitar crunch of the opening track, New Direction. But if youre a fan of Cheech & Chong, you may have recognized that horn from a movie six years prior to the albums release. In the 1983 film Still Smokin, there is a dream sequence where main characters Cheech & Chong are at a film festival being introduced as famous world actors, and they make their entrance to the same musical prelude used on Start Today. Gorilla Biscuits didnt lift it from the movie, however, but from the same sound effects record that the film apparently also pulled from.
