Puppy Porter and I spent the morning at the longarm working on - TopicsExpress

Puppy Porter and I spent the morning at the longarm working on Spargo. Getting very close to being done. Then several play breaks in the backyard…lovely, the sun was out today and we both enjoyed it. Mid-afternoon we went for a nice long walk—dry but crisp; just perfect. She loved it. I am definitely getting my exercise with Porter. Then this afternoon back to the Baby Quilt. Almost all my piecing is done and I hope to get the borders started yet this week. Mail arrived and another Kim Diehl kit from her What Knots Club from Fat Quarters rolled in. I think this is the fifth. I will have some fun little project kits to play with once I get my deadline pieces done and I finish up the larger quilts I started last year that are waiting for attention. Instead of being tied into six block-of-the-month groups this year, like last year, with that constant pressure to stay current on each one, my plan is to have a little more freedom and be able to pull a kit off my “To Do” shelves on a whim and work on it. But before I get to that point, after Baby Quilt and 2014 Spargo, I need to attack the few large size quilts that I started last year. A-Z for Ewe & Me (was a 2014 BOM). Just need to finish the appliqued borders and I’ll be ready to quilt it. Sunflower Gatherings (a summer Primitive Gatherings BOM). All the block are done from last summer, and I think I even started piecing the borders. So need to start assembling and do borders). Then the Kim Diehl piece I picked out to put on my dining room table that reminds me a bit of Bittersweet Briar that I made for my DIL’s bridal shower: Homestead Harvest. Got it started back in June and it is half way done. I think I was starting to work the appliqued vines. So just three decent size projects to finish and then I can do my two 2015 BOMs: Spargo and The Village, and then just play with whatever suits my fancy. Will be a different kind of year for me…we’ll see if I can be disciplined enough to start and finish things without the monthly deadlines hanging over my head… :)))
