Purdin 2014 Harvest Weekend - 1st & 2nd November 2014. Anyone - TopicsExpress

Purdin 2014 Harvest Weekend - 1st & 2nd November 2014. Anyone who has ever been lucky enough to visit Japan will tell you it really is the Koi experience of a lifetime. The problem is apart from the distance for most Koi enthusiasts the costs can be prohibitive. Japan is an expensive country. Accommodation, travel food are all significant cost centres for Koi adventurers. Thats not to say Koi Keepers should not aspire to visit sometime but for most of us, its literally a trip of a lifetime. For Koi Keepers in the USA especially but also in the UK and Europe theres a much less expensive Koi alternative. In early November the Purdin Koi Farm harvests take place and, given that this is the time of year when the Purdin Team get to see the fruits of the years work, this is also an opportunity for visitors to see the best Koi Purdin have to offer. In addition to the Nissai, Sansai, Yonsai etc that have been growing for the season in the extensive Purdin facilities its also harvest time for this years Tosai. These Koi are always impressive but growing excitement reflects our anticipation that 2014 is a watershed year with some of the best Koi we have ever produced. Consider also that Baton Rouge Louisiana, home to Purdin Koi, is only an hour or so drive from New Orleans, and like Niigata, Japan everyone really should visit this incredible city once in their lifetime. Finally emerging from the awful shadow of Katrina and at last enjoying a much deserved renaissance, its simply a fantastic place to visit and, for music fans it is THE musical epicentre of the planet. Apologies to Detroit, Memphis, Rio, Liverpool et al, but in New Orleans you are rarely more than a step away from live sounds that can make your spirit soar or your heart break. From Chris Owens, India Arie, Lee Ritenour & Dave Grusin to Grandpa Elliot - the crescent city on the river really does have the lot, its a cultural and musical melting pot with a truly contageous energy and a totally unique enthusiasm for life and living. We also checked some prices, hotels start at around $50/£30 a night, but for $120/£75 (ish) a night you can stay at the world famous and stunning Hotel Monteleone or for a bit more the landmark Roosevelt (now part of the Waldorf Astoria Group) with its famous Sazerac Bar and Blue Room. Or if you prefer something a bit less corporate but even more expensive, the legendary Soniat House, hideaway of the stars and literally just off Bourbon Street the French Quarter centre of the action which Jazzes, Blues and totally Rocks literally 365 days a year! Whatever your taste and budget there is something to suit you, and, if we sound like the New Orleans tourist board, we aren’t, but it is for a good reason…its because just like Purdin Koi, New Orleans really is bit of a hidden gem and really does have something for everyone. Finally, consider this... the beauty of a Koi trip to Louisiana is that you can visit both!
