Most preachers believe that the spirit world(Purgatory) is now empty because when Christ ascended above, He set free all prisoners there. The consultation to a medium was then tabooed by God in the period of grace through Christ because evil spirits may disguise as the one summoned to trick us, besides, Christ alone is the way. But ever since the setting of the creation and salvation was not changed. Christ came to reunite us bsck to God and not to change the settings and the laws.
