(Push.ph) Bea Alonzo believes ‘awkward stage’ with Dingdong Dantes works to their advantage With more than dozen of box office hits and top-rating soaps wherein she had to work with the industry’s most promising and seasoned leading men, one would think that actress Bea Alonzo doesn’t go through an adjustment period. The actress, however, says otherwise. In a recent exclusive interview with Push.ph, the The Mistress actress quipped that she’s currently in an “awkward stage” with Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes, her newest leading man for yet another Star Cinema 20th anniversary film. “So far it’s awkward… kasi hindi kami [madalas na nakakapag-work together]. Parang unlike sila Sam [Milby] and John Lloyd [Cruz] parang I’m used to being with them. Parang nakikipagbiruan ako sa kanila,” she explained. However that doesn’t mean that they aren’t having a good working relationship as Bea was quick to add that Dingdong is a “gentleman” and that if anything the awkwardness that they currently have between them is working to the film’s advantage. “I think it’s working for us kasi alam mo yung medyo may mystery pa yung isa’t-isa. So it shows kapag [nagro-roll yung camera],” shared the 25-year-old Kapamilya star. Overall, Bea said that she’s having fun working with Dingdong and the film’s director Mae Cruz saying that “Si Direk Mae kasi director ko na siya sa ‘Maging Sino Ka Man.’ Andami na naming shows na pinagsamahan like ‘Magkaribal’ so na-miss ko rin na maki-bonding sa kanya.” The upcoming film is Dingdong’s third project with Star Cinema. His past films with ABS-CBN’s filmmaking arm were featured in the 2011 and 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival which earned him back-to-back Best Actor trophies: Segunda Mano where he was paired with Kris Aquino and One More Try where he had the chance to work with Angel Locsin, Angelica Panganiban and Bea’s beau, Zanjoe Marudo. Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Marian Rivera, Dingdong’s longtime ladylove, was quoted as saying that she doesn’t have any problems that Bea is working with the Kapuso actor. For her part, Bea also admitted that this project and her new leading man has her boyfriend’s go ahead as well. “No, they’re friends. They’re been friends even before I met him kasi they’ve worked together in a movie,” Bea explained as to why working with Dingdong won’t be an issue with the Bromance star. Marian even sent Bea a bunch of pastries, which the latter took a photo of and posted on her Instagram account with the caption, “Thank you so much @therealmarian for this!! I am truly touched!! Hope to hang out with you soon.. @dongdantes”
