Putting the final touches on the Student Union Revitalization Fund (SURF) Initiative presentation for the Campus Planning Committee. This renovation and expansion of the University Center will work to include: ο 24-hour study/ computer space and lounge; ο Increased number of C.L.A.S. classrooms ο Health and Wellness Center; ο Centers for Veterans, Former Foster Youth, Transit/Commuter Students, Dream Scholars, and International Students, etc; ο Environmental and Sustainability Resource Center; ο Space for ASUCSB organizations such as AS Senate, Bottom Line, SIRRC, Finance Board; ο Student Organization meeting space and multipurpose room for club events; ο Campus Pub and Produce Market; ο AS Food Bank; ο Free indoor dance and performance practice space; This has been long in the works, this specific effort is a branch off of the 2011-2012 efforts to build this facility adjacent to Lot 22 that then AS President Harrison Weber led.
