På tisdag avslutas Kickstarter-satsningen för filmen om högkänslighet. Här kommer senaste nytt från Elaine: Dear HSPs, Thank you all for contributing to the making of Sensitive. YOU did it. A big special thank you to those who have used social media on the film’s behalf. It WILL be made. We are down to the wire on Kickstarter. It ends Tuesday at 1 pm, Pacific Time. Have you looked at the website? Dont delay. It is so impressive, how many people have contributed to the making of the film. Anything you can do for the film here at the end will be greatly appreciated, including spreading the word more. The more money for the film, the better it will be. As I said at the beginning, we aimed low ($50,000) because if you dont meet the goal, you do not receive any of it. We did that. Which is wonderful. But what we really need is $100,000 (especially since Kickstarter takes 5%, which is quite fair) to make an impressive movie for PBS, BBC, etc. However, do not feel obligated to contribute more than is comfortable. Your needs do come first. Just do what you can, and tell others. Thank you very, very much. We have added some new incentives: mugs, t-shirts, and tuition to one of three HSP Gathering Retreats, thanks to Jacquelyn Strickland. By the way, if you want to contribute to the movie directly through the Foundation, after the Kickstarter drive is over, you can mail a check to The Foundation for the Study of HSPs, P. O. Box 543. Tiburon, CA 94920. However, we will not be doing the incentives any more. Very soon, we will have a way to contribute online at hsperson, so you can also watch for that. More news about the film: Will and Diana need to go to Europe for something else, so we are planning a mad dash for them through about seven cities, interviewing scientists and interesting HSPs, to make the film more international. It will make a far richer film, but we will have to be a bit richer to pay for their travel, lodging, and crew. Did you see that Alanis Morissette will be in the film and contribute two of her songs? If you are not familiar with her music (I wasnt) she is a really, really big star. She writes and sings a wide range of music, but heres one I especially like: youtube/watch?v=pZi-8WVLUqg I have already talked with her at length on Skype about her sensitivity and her eagerness to have the world understand it better. She is going to be a fine supporter for us. To prove that I dont only write to you about the documentary, heres an announcement, and some hard science. Monday, September 22, I will be live on Voice of America radio at noon Pacific Time, on a show called Shrink Rap Forum by licensed psychologist Dr. Linda Yniguez, or Dr. Lin. You can call in or email during the show, or hear it in the archives later: voiceamerica/show/2343/the-shrinkrap-forum. (You might go online early to figure out this website. I found it a bit daunting.)
