Q - Why is PSN down? A- Its not really down. Its just that its login servers are really busy. The login servers are currently under a DDOS attack. Q - What is a DDOS attack? A - It stands for Distributed Denial of Service. It is basically when a server gets sent a constant numerous requests in an attempt to overwhelm the server and prevent it from serving legitimate requests or even crash it. Its like a zerg rush. Or a cactuars 10,000 Needles attack, only its more like 100,000 Needles and theres like 5,000 cactuars doing it over and over. Q - Why doesnt Sony do anything about this? A - They probably are trying to do something about it. Its just that DDOS attacks can easily be scaled up and can be launched by multiple botnets. They can only do so much. Its like trying to pop all your defensive cooldowns and heal through a nonstop Tumult from Titan but you run out of MP and CDs and you wipe, and you start over again and again with no Echo. Q- How came some people were able to get in and others cant? A - Same reason some folks got that pony drop and others dont. Real life RNG.
