Q&A - November 3rd. Thank you to all those who came to the Q&A at The Engine House on the 3rd November. Following an introduction by Mike Ball, Deputy Chairman of the Holdings Company, there was a presentation to the audience by Nick Ralls, General Manager. The presentation covered the closure of the share offer, an update on the share offer projects, including Hagley Hall, The Heritage Skills Training Academy and the proposed overhaul of the Great Western Set. David Postle, Chairman of the Conservation & Heritage Committee updated the audience on the Bridgnorth Development Project detailing that the Group are now at the Options stage of the GRIP process, and will be presenting a recommendation to the Holdings Board on the 26th November 2013. At this point Mike Ball described the discussions that have been undertaken to explore the possibility of purchasing or leasing land adjacent to Bridgnorth Station. There was support in the room for the proposals and a request that the railway continues to explore these opportunities. Following the presentations, questions were taken. The topics were varied but included: Q. The need for a new multilingual leaflet for overseas passengers. A. I would look to restore this for next season. Q. An update on the discussions to install a turntable at Bridgnorth. A. This is a nice to have, and unfortunately because of the constrictions of the site at Bridgnorth, the turntable is not included in this phase of the Bridgnorth Development Project. Q. How the Railway can use the crossover more? A. The Railway is in discussion with main line TOCs and Heritage Steam TOCs to encourage use of the crossover. Q. Would the Railway support the creation of a Friends of the Black 5. A. The Friends of Hagley Hall is a dynamic group who have been very supportive and the Railway would encourage and work with such a group as the Friends of 45110.
