Q&A: Im going to take the time to answer all your questions in my inbox and I will be sharing them as well. Dear Fellow Cosplayer, Thank you for writing to me. Indeed its honor to have the title of Queen. If I understand your first question is. Do I have a type of character that I like to cosplay the most? To answer that question, yes! I prefer to cosplay strong characters that I personally like, love, or am similar to. Cosplay originated as a way for fans to show their love for their favorite characters at conventions. Before I cosplay a character I do spend a lot of time studying the mannerism of that character, especially if its a cosplay requested by a fan. In those cases I may not have known of the character before hand so then I would have to do more research and see if the character is someone I would like to represent. As far as character types go I love strong female characters that are dynamic in their roles. I find a lot of the stronger characters are not popular or are portrayed as unfavorable by the male counterpart. This is a problem with anime in general as it plays off the idea of a strong woman would not be as suitable as the ditzy cute character who is strong but just not as strong. For the second question, Do I have a character I enjoy cosplaying the most? This question is rather interesting for me, as I started cosplaying before I knew what cosplay was. I started out doing it at home while watching the X-Men when I was a child, I just knew that one day I was going to grow up and become Storm. I have CosFashion designs of Storm and I wore them back in my undergrad years. I even won a Halloween Costume contest as Storm, but as much as I love her, shes actually not my favorite to wear. Here comes my love for epic band boys REITA!! Reita from the Gazette is actually my favorite CosFashion to wear. I have 3 different costumes for him, and my favorite out of the 3 is the first one I made. I landed a TV job from walking around in Harajuku dressed as him. Then on day of that job after I finished I got picked up by FashionAsia and started working for their TV Show. That night I was in Roppongi and got to meet a very famous Kpop band. They let me in VIP thinking I was a member... Granted I didnt really want the band members to take me as a guy which they did until one of them bumped into me and apologized, after I said it was okay he panicked and leaned in to examine me. HAHA he was like WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! Youre a girl!!! A pretty girl!!! I thought you were a guy. After that the rest of night was even more fun because they were not really allowed to hang out with girls but since I passed for a guy it was okay. My second favorite Michael Jackson!!! The only reason its my 2nd favorite is because after I wear it for the next 2 or 3 months everyone calls me Michael or the female Michael Jackson. Thats a great and high honor as MJ was my biggest role model to the point that my mom banned me from watching MoonWalker. I watched it 10 times in a row, she felt that was a little too much. But you know MJ said Dont Stop Till You Get Enough, and I couldnt get enough! Because I truly respect and admire MJ I rather not become famous of of copying him, I rather be Queen Fenix DJoan and pay tribute to him like I did for my birthday. I hope that answered your questions. Have a blessed day! Queen Fenix PS.
