Jazakallah Mariam RESPONSE: First and foremost you can ONLY WILL the 1/3 share for your adopted Son as per Islamic Shariah Law of Inheritance. You CANNOT WILL anything to your spouse and immeduate biological family as these shares are already pre determined by Allah and will only be distributed after the demise of an individual to his/her legal heirs (spouse, parents, children etc) The reason for this is mainly because you DO NOT know who will die first and the Islamic Inheritance shares are based on who remains alive after the death of a family member. As an example, if you will a portion of your wealth to a child and the child dies before you then that share of inheritance is invalid from an Islamic point of view. Allah Knows Best!
