Q & A day... I wanted to write a bio of myself but its either short and bland or a novel- I can add some of this to the FAQ later. Anything you want to know about me? My name is Olivia. I grew up with a horse-loving mom and loved 4-H as well as working with Moms foals as I went along. Ive foaled out mares, raised horses, colt-started, shown most any western class, bought horses, sold horses, felt the sting of loss, worked for a small town vet, started and exercised racehorses, worked in equine rehab, and I now train at a rescue working with everything from previously neglected horses and ex-racers to unstarted aged horses, previous orphans and so called bad horses (and everything in between!). I take the info that works and put it to use, I ditch or log what doesnt and Ill listen to anyone and any horse about great ways to proceed effectively in horsemanship. My mom took me to ride in a Buck Brannaman clinic when I was 10 or 11- so yes, I know who he is for those that ask, it was a great experience. Ive been to several Peter Campbell clinics and GREATLY enjoyed those, I love any form of no nonsense, no gimmicks horsemanship that works. Troubled horses have taught me a lot about how they want to be treated and handled, horses have a lifetime of lessons to teach us we just have to listen. Im terrible at talking about myself but Im trying :). Ive ridden most breeds Id say, but there are a few yet to scratch off the bucket list. Ive been drug, stepped on (chest even!) thrown, flipped on, and even snatched up and shook like a rag doll but much less of that sort of thing in recent years where training moves at my pace and my judgement. Ive tried to be helpful to a lot of people when I can, learn as much as I can, and keep from being a total doormat to others too. Including pics of my daughter (now 4 months old) just because, being pregnant reminded me how much working horses is a part of me and I hope she shares the passion one day!
