Q: Dear Mourad, I am curious to know are you considering yourself enlightened? I hope you will not mind if I use pronouns. There are some who are so obsessed with the idea of non-self, that they even find pronouns in language offensive. I do not consider myself as enlightened, nor can I be said to be a seeker. There is no ego-substance which can become enlightened, so how can I be enlightened ? To become identified as oneself being enlightened is again falling back into the same misunderstanding of grasping onto a false self-image that is nothing more than a figment of ones imagination. There is only the presence of enlightenment itself as a quality, not as a being who is enlightened. When there is the presence of enlightenment, simply as a stream of pure perception - attachment and clinging activity of the mind comes to an end, which is why I cannot be said to be a seeker. If anything, with a beginners mind the learning process continues, but this is not out of some conscious search for something, but out of a rich creative energy, once discovered and your mind remains receptive to it, continues expanding and multiplying.
