Q. Dear Rabbi, when does Jews & Christian start abandon the Solat - TopicsExpress

Q. Dear Rabbi, when does Jews & Christian start abandon the Solat in general... it happen that it is very rare for a Jews today and almost impossible to meet Christian that Salat.. A. Jews never abandon the Salat. Rabbinic Jew pray five times a day (two private and three public prayer). We do 2,4,4,3,1 rakaat similar to Muslims 2,4,4,3,4 rakaat. Rabbinic Jews do partial sujud except on major holidays because of mourning for the destruction of the Temple. Once the Mosaic system of sacrifices is re-instituted, then full sujud will be practiced again. Q. Rabbi, Which is the first done islamic prayer or jews prayer? Or that the prayer is older than Israel, and it was how Abraham himself prayed. A. I have proposed that Rabbinic and Islamic rakaat are based on tawaf, which in turn is based on offering sacrifices on Abrahamic altar, sprinkling the blood while going around the altar in a counter clockwise direction. IMHO this prayer has its roots in something older than either Quranic or Rabbinic prayer.
