Q: Is peace and harmony a fair standard? It isnt expected of Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, CVS and 99 percent of American business. Is there a double standard at work? A: Its indicative of what things people are really connected to. Wal-Mart is like a gas station. You pull up, you fill your cart, you leave. Theres no warmth, and no one makes eye contact. Craft beer is all heat. A member of our advisory board and I talked a couple months ago about how beer is the original social media. Going back to the Middle Ages, they called pubs public houses because it was where the people would interact with news of birth and death and celebrate things. It was where the community came to knit their tribe, and beer was the currency. Its never been any other way.
