Q: Thoughts about Russell Brand? R: Each person is communicating along a particular information stream based on impersonal factors. Communication, if it ever happens, is agreeing, disagreeing, and expressing ambiguity. Mr. Brand, like anyone else, is agreeing with his values, disagreeing with what opposes them, and expressing ambiguity where neither disagreeing or agreeing applies. He will and will not be successful, like everyone else. Further: There have been billions of Russell Brands and there will be billions more. He is a man speaking out against things that bother him about living in just one of many societies around the island. His replacement, like anyones, was just born and in 35 years or so, will begin to impersonally speak along similar lines for and against whatever is amidst; an endless game of leaping frogs in a lily pond of predictability. I recommend The Cartoon History of the Universe. Its a great three-volume graphic textbook and it can put modern events into a simple perspective. Nothing new happens under the sun.
