Q: Why is a&d ointment bad for tattoos? A: A&D Ointment is recommended for the healing of new tattoos, but should be used sparingly, in a very thin layer-just enough to make the tattoo shine. It should be worked into the tattoo well and you should barely be able to tell it is there. Even so, some people have had allergic reactions to this ointment so I do not recommend at all for my large colored pieces. My favorite thing to use on Tattoos is H2Ocean products!!! I love their new product Aquatat which is perfect for the first 3 days of healing and then I switch to the original formula. Also, Hustle Butter is the shit and I used it on my pink Skully which is my favorite tattoo done by my favorite tattoo artist Daniel Van Doozer out of Eccentric Tattoos over by Lackland Airforce Base. You will never catch me without my Dial Antibacterial soap, to wash my new tattoos once or twice a day. And be sure to keep your hands clean at all times with hand sanitizer with no aloe or scents. But always remember to put a light layer to avoid too much moisture! Never wrap your tattoos back up and allow your tattoo to breathe. Do not wear tight fitting clothing, try to wear loose cotton clothing if you cannot let it be shown off. If at anytime a scab begins forming which is normal, I stop using all ointment and allow to dry out, then apply sparingly after a few days only if it gets itchy and too dry. I recommend spending the extra money to get a product that is especially made for tattoos. It is worth it to take care and keep your tattoo looking bright and beautiful for years to come! Much love!
