QB DECISION: Did we all want E.J. to succeed? Yes. Did we want - TopicsExpress

QB DECISION: Did we all want E.J. to succeed? Yes. Did we want him to be the next Elite QB for our beloved Bills? Of course we did. Is the decision to bench him next week too soon? Probably. However, in the grand scheme of things, here is what to consider; The Bills havent made the playoffs since 1999, over 15 years ago. Think about how long 15 years actually is. Where were you 15 years ago, today? The Bills have made significant moves, as of late; New Head Coach, new regime and a fairly new advertising tag-line: Its Our Time. It IS our time and long overdue. Theyve also surrounded E.J. with an impressive supporting cast on offense; Woods, Williams, and Watkins. If you recall, we sacrificed a 1st round pick, next year, for Watkins, and Spiller and Jackson are some of THE premiere backs in the league; Gamebreakers, in fact. The Defense is solid and even our Kicker, Carpenter, is outstanding. We have a GOOD team w a TON of talent. With not making the playoffs for 15 years, Marrone trying to prove his worth and a new owner taking over in early October - the pressure is on, more than ever. We simply dont have time to wait for a relatively new QB to develop. In ANY other scenario, I would say, keep E.J. in, let him mature as a young QB. He has shown flashes of hope, however, the pressure, more than ever, of winning NOW, is upon us and this is a TEAM here and The Bills are good enough to make the playoffs with the current talent on the field. With Orton as the starter on Sunday, for Buffalos sake, for The Coachs sake, they certainly better win. This was a very BOLD move, but it sends a message of urgency to the team, which I respect. We shall see if it was the right move. #goBills
