QCPD nabs female member of ‘dugo-dugo’ gang Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director Police Senior Superintendent Joel D Pagdilao announced the arrest of a suspected member of the ‘dugo-dugo’ gang in an entrapment operation conducted operatives of Masambong Police Station (PS-2) on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in Quezon City. PSSupt Pagdilao identified the suspect as Mary Joy Padua, 30 y/o, single, native of Manila and resident of no. 46 Quiamzon St., San Jose, Rodriguez Rizal. Report showed that at around 5:30 p.m, January 3, 2015, an identified caller called the residence of the victim identified as Victor Tan and informed the Tan’s housemaid identified as Maricel Sapanta that her employer was in the hospital after he was involved in a vehicular accident. The suspect instructed Sapanta to get Tan’s cash money, jewelries, and other valuables from his room to pay the victim of her employer. Sapanta sought assistance from Tan’s neighbor who tried to contact Tan through his cellphone supposedly to verify the report about the accident. Tan’s neighbor identified only as Mr. Belleza learned that the report was not true, thus, he contacted Patrol 117 and reported the incident. The operatives proceeded at Tan’s residence and an entrapment operation was planned and conducted. Tan and Sapanta cooperated with the police and provided the operatives the items that were needed in the said entrapment operation that was set near the Commonwealth Sandiganbayan Footbridge in Quezon City. Upon arrival at the meeting place, Sapanta handed to Padua Lacoste body bag containing several pre-marked articles as evidence and immediately walked-away. Padua was immediately arrested and recovered from her possession the aforesaid articles. She was brought to the police station and was charge of Estafa before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office. PSSupt Pagdilao called on other victims of ‘dugo-dugo’ gang who employ the said modus to proceed to PS-2 and identify the suspect and press additional charges against her.
