QEG December 6th 2014 Minister: Pastor Prince Obasi-ike. Sermon: Woman, You shall walk in Overflow. Main Text: 1 Samuel 2:5 They that were full have hired out themselves for bread; and they that were hungry ceased: so that the barren hath born seven; and she that hath many children is waxed feeble. Our main focus is derived from the word GRACE. • It is wrong to assume that when it comes to grace you have no part to play. This is the believe of lazy people. • When it comes to grace in the issue of salvation, you need to receive it, otherwise everybody in the whole world would be saved. • Grace can thus be defined as that benefit, that favour that comes to you irrespective of what you have done.Whatsoever thing you have done is too little to be compared to what you are getting. We going to use the acronym of G.R.A.C.E to further expand on how we can work in continual overflow. 1.G- Give out, give in or give up something. John 6:5-13, Luke 5:1-7, 1 Kings 17:10-16, • Giving out, in and up simply means sacrifice. Psalms 86:12. I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. Psalms 89:1-4. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations. 2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens. 3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn unto David my servant, 4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. • As a result of Davids unending praise, God made a covenant with him to establish his offsprings forever and build his throne for all generations. • Abraham gave out Isaac back to the Almighty God and as a result, God made a covenant with him in Genesis 22:17-18 Genesis 22: 17& 18 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. As a result of this we are all represent the overflow of sons and daughters of the Almighty God. 2. R- Re-package or Re-invent or Re-organize yourself. Do somethings different from the way you have been used to. Hannah did likewise as we will see in 1 Samuel chapter one; 1 Samuel 1:10 & 11. 10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore. 11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head. • Hannah repackaged her prayer and she not only got the one child she was asking God for but received an overflow of seven children instead. • If you want an overflow, add value to yourself, do something differently, go back to school if need be, dont stop at where it has always been. 3. A- Anointing i.e Pray, call on God • There must be a consecration through prayer Psalm 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. • Where there is an anointing, there is no way what will follow will not be overflow. • May the Lord anoint you afresh, in the name of Jesus. • If we need overflow, we need the anointing, we need God to touch us. 4. C- Cooperate with God. • Co-operating with God entails waiting patiently on him because he has his own timings. Psalms 37:7, Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Psalms 40:1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. • Jumping into something that God is not in delays the move of God. Always wait on God and he will surely do what He has promised. 5. E-Expect your overflow. • Always be conscious of what you are waiting for and expect it to happen. 1 Samuel 1:18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad. • When Hannah heard the declaration from the man of God, she changed her countenance. The sadness she had carried over the years ended. • I pray that very one of you that is expecting something from God will do something differently and that your face will not show sorrow but will reflect the glory of God. • Where there is no expectation there can be no delivery. • Where grace is found, overflow cannot but be made manifest. • Wherever grace is, overflow is inevitable. Pray: Lord help me to manifest grace in Jesus mighty name.
