#QLD #Weather #Corp Update: Coastal Waters Wind Warning For coastal waters from Sandy Cape to Point Danger, excluding Moreton Bay. Issued at 10:55 pm EST on Thursday 19 September 2013 Synoptic Situation Surface trough extends from the eastern interior of Queensland down to a low pressure system in the Tasman Sea. The trough is expected to move eastwards into the southeast Queensland coastal waters early Friday morning. Strong winds are expected ahead of the trough. UPDATED Strong Wind Warning Sandy Cape to Double Island Point Expect North to Northwesterly winds reaching 25 to 30 knots at times. Seas to 3 metres. winds are expected to decrease below 26 knots early Friday morning. UPDATED Strong Wind Warning Double Island Point to Point Danger. Expect North to Northwesterly winds 25 to 30 knots, mostly offshore. Seas to 3 metres. Winds are expected to decrease below 26 knots during Friday morning. CANCELLED Strong Wind Warning Moreton Bay Winds have decreased below 26 knots. The next warning will be issued by 5 am AEST. Please be aware Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here, and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
