QM has nothing to do with our technological development; in fact - TopicsExpress

QM has nothing to do with our technological development; in fact the opposite is true - QM hinders it! People who claim that QM had any application in our modern technology, or would have any in the future, do not understand that a quantum system is encapsulated in the wave function. This is just a mathematical convenience and is all we can know about a quantum system. In other words, we can deduce the probabilities of a quantum particle as being in one state or another because measurements “collapse” the wave function. Werner Heisenberg, one of the physicists who devised a mathematical description of QM, believed that we cannot answer every question about a quantum system in an exact manner. His notion is known as "Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle”. This states that the more precisely you determine an electron’s momentum, the less you can know about its position in space and vice versa.
