QUALITY BONUS TO BE PAID 12-5 November 6, 2014 Dear UAW-GM Team Members, Your hard work and commitment to quality have really made a difference this year. We’ve observed this through a number of significant launches, including our new Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon mid-size pickups. Special congratulations go out to the joint launch teams and employees across multiple plants who supported these new vehicle introductions. We applaud the efforts of many of you in helping your plants achieve Built-in-Quality Level 3 and 4 Certifications. With its focus on creating a manufacturing environment free of all defects, BIQ plays a key role in delivering top quality vehicles to our customers. Plant teams, enabled by your involvement, are getting better every day. This level of dedication is what it takes to earn customers for life. When it comes to quality, we don’t win until our customers tell us we do. This past summer, they did just that. The third-party consumer study that is most relevant to the work our powertrain, components, stamping and assembly plants do is the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. The results showed GM with six segment award winners, more than any other automaker for a second consecutive year. Additionally, GM had the most top three finishers in each automotive segment in which we compete. While we celebrate the wins proudly, we all know that our work to improve quality is never complete. In the recently published Consumer Reports 2014 Annual Reliability Survey, only 18 of 24 eligible GM models achieved average or better than average reliability. Clearly, there’s more work to be done across the GM enterprise, and we’re up to doing our part. So, here’s some good news for you. We are pleased to report that our team achieved the 2014 quality target related to warranty performance. As the 2011 National Agreement provides, eligible UAW-GM team members will receive a $250 bonus in their paychecks on December 5. Congratulations and thank you for putting the customer at the center of everything you do. Cindy Estrada Jim Glynn UAW Vice President GM Labor Relations Vice President
