QUALITY DECISIONS Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 11:14 In order to achieve your goals this year, you have to make several decisions. In fact, life is full of decisions. It is said that the average person makes thousands of decisions every day. Many of the major decisions we have to make require careful thought and consideration. Making such major decisions often requires the help of counselors whose experience can enable them help you make a good decision. Such a counselor may be your boss, your pastor, your parents or even a colleague. Every counselor in your life is a medium by which you see that side of yourself which is usually hidden from you. Safety in life is often guaranteed when we are able to make wise decisions based on variety of perspectives. You must however be careful whose advice you take because the quality of your life is influenced by the quality of advice you receive. So in choosing a counselor, consider the following: Good character: A good counselor must have a good character. A person with questionable character cannot give a sound moral advice. Practical wisdom: A counselor must have a proven track record of success or experience in the area you are seek advice in. Ability to keep secret: A person seeking advice is required to open up to the counselor to help him give good counsel based on honest information. The counselee must have the confidence that whatever he or she is sharing shall remain confidential. May the good Lord guide you and give multitude of quality counsellors.
