QUALITY MANAGER – ALBERTON DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop and implement quality management strategy and plans to integrate within the organisation’s annual nosiness plan and long term strategy • Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to activities and products • Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards • Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels • Monitor and inform/communicate and apply standards created/maintained by external bodies, and integrate within internal quality management systems • Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments • Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales • Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally) and on performance against standards • Liaise and co-operate with quality management and standards bodies • Manage staff according to company standards (appraisals, discipline, training, development etc.) • Liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by quality issues) • Contribute to executive policy and strategy SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervising and motivating the relevant quality personnel • Reviewing the performance of subordinate • Identifying training needs • Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities • Motivating employees under direct management and ensuring all subordinates are qualified for the positions they hold QUALIFICATIONS • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory level. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • B Tech/ B.Sc. (Eng.) or equivalent • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a manufacturing, steel fabrication or construction industry • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role • Welding inspector Level II. • Knowledge of SAIW welding procedures and advanced mechanical inspection techniques • ISO 9001:2008 QMS Certification and Auditing • Knowledge of SHE. OSHACT 1995, VDA6, ISO TS, PPAP. Email:[email protected]
