QUEEN PLOT: Starts with the preparations for the marriage - TopicsExpress

QUEEN PLOT: Starts with the preparations for the marriage ceremony of a simple girl, Rani (Kangana Ranaut) and an Engineer Vijay, (Rajkumar Rao) in typical Punjabi style with some light punches and a beautiful voice over by Kanagana. A day later Vijay calls off the marriage not finding Rani upto his standards. Depressed, Rani finally decides to go to Paris (where the couple had planned to go for honeymoon) ALONE. The perfect blend of Ranis flashbacks on her love affair with the current scenario makes you laugh and cry at the same time. Finally the typical Indian simple girl meets the hot Vijaylaxmi (Lisa Haydon) in Paris and the way they carry the plot ahead is simply WOW. After 1st half Rani moves to Amsterdam leaving Vijaylaxmi behind and meets Olik,Takand Timguys of different ethnicity and mixes with them beautifully. Though the second half is slightly weak on punches but still does not break the pace building emotional connection between the four. Climax is predictable but the BEST and most CREATIVE part of the movie is the ‘closing credits’, which should not be missed. What’s Good : The strongest part of the film is Kangana Ranaut who is definitely gonna be a nominee for best actor female 2014. The script has all the elements which make this movie a must watch, the introduction of all the characters as the story proceeds looks perfect with hardly any flaw in editing. What’s Bad : The movie has glimpses of Sridevi starrer English Vinglish. Final Verdict : Vikas Bahl s direction brings different flavours of Emotions to your cinema with its tasty combination of fragrant Lisa Haydon, added with the spicy performance of Rajkumar, with no artificial acting in sight, cooked in natural performance of the extremely talented Kangana and beautifully served in the captivating locations of Paris and Amsterdam. A treat to all women on women’s day. 8* out of 10.
