QUESTION EMAILED IN: Lets all help Ann out - While the low carb meal plan works well for me I am concerned about the ratio of carbs, fat, and protein. I know to limit carbs, and increase protein, and healthy fats but - I am stuck on what the correct ration of that might be. Perhaps its just different for everyone? Or the amount of physical activity I am getting? Ive looked online at protein calculators and one told me I should be eating 80 grams of protein per day for a somewhat sedentary lifestyle but only 85-90 grams for an active one. Ive also had a nurse practitioner tell me that I only needed 50-55 grams of protein per day for 30 minutes of cardio exercise. And then post surgery I was told to eat 140 grams of protein per day to reduce swelling and encourage healing. Im a little lost here. I know the surgical one is off the charts and only for specific instances but is there any way to tell how much I should be shooting for besides somewhere between the 50 - 90 grams window? And how does that fit into a calorie range of 1200 - 1400? Sigh. I know there is a ton of good information available but I am not finding any clear answers. Hoping someone may be able to share some info on what works well for them and that may lead me in the right direction. Thanks so much for any assistance you can offer.
