QUESTION FROM A READER: In June I got day old Easter Egger and Wyandotte chicks. My EEs are laying and doing great but the Wyandotte hens are picking and eating feathers from, well, anyone. They especially like the feathers just in front of the tail. I turn them loose in the yard when I can (our dog stares and drools so supervision is a must!). They get a layer ration, scratch grains and I just added oyster shells. I am experimenting with growing fodder for the winter. Are they bored, lacking something or just mean? Thanks!
