QUESTION: Have you ever stayed at a hotel..where you were accidentally checked into a room where someone else was registered?? Ok, it does happen..but when you find this out, the obvious thing is to come downstairs, tell the clerk what happened, and have your room moved, RIGHT?? Last night this happened to me. I apologized to the guest and offered to move him to another room. Simple enough, right??? No..this gets better. Apparently, he left his items in the room..ON THE BED..IN THE BATHROOM..and IN THE CLOSET...and I had to call upstairs to the guest WHO NEVER CAME BACK DOWN to retrieve them. I went to get said items and apologized profusely to the guest I had inadvertently put into the room (who apparently was asleep) for the confusion. He calls downstairs after I had retrieved his items and asked me if I was done bothering him (mind you...he never bothered to come downstairs after seeing this other guests items on the bed). I apologized again, and thought this was done. Not more than 5 minutes passes when he comes barreling downstairs, demanding why I had the nerve to come into his room AGAIN. (Mind you..i politely explained the entire situation to him in detail, and even comped his night). He asked me what I would have done had his deadbolt had NOT been on his door. Again, I apologized and again, he asked me the same question, What would you have done if my deadbolt had not been on my door? Now, mind you, I did knock quite loudly three times before I tried my key, opening the door and calling his name. He didnt accept my apology, stating that next time I bothered him he would cut my arm off. Suffice it to say Im a little pissed, and I will be calling his supervisors. This is unacceptable to me. Mind you, I made a mistake, and apologized for my actions, but you dont get away with verbally berating and attacking me.
