QUESTION: My husband and I are after some information about how parental rights for my husbands children who live with us. I have acted in the capacity of a parent to 2 of my husbands children for almost 5 years, and we both feel that its time this arrangement is formalised. Particularly, as I am the main person supporting my step-son who has ASD, ADHD and extremely high anxiety. I think that its only fair and right that I am seen to have full parental rights with respect to his care and upbringing. Both children see their mother, supposedly one weekend per month, however it is in fact more like 9 weekends per year as there are frequent cancellations from the mother.
