QUESTION: WHAT MAKES YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE TEACHINGS OF THE APOSTLES BETTER THAN THE EARLY CHURCH FATHERS? . . .for there are those who simply DISMISS the Early Church Fathers who served as our LINK to the Apostles . . . and they RELY ON THEIR OWN INTERPRETATION of the BIBLE . . .here is a 4-minute audio clip of the Discussion between Karl Keating of Catholic Answers and Dave Hunt who was a Protestant Apologist and Writer . . .the audience submitted the question to Dave Hunt who dismissed the Early Church Fathers :and relied on his own understanding and interpretation of Acts 20:28-32 when St Paul exhorted the Ephesian ELDERS . . .but they were ELDERS and NOT JUST ANYONE who were taught and trained by the Apostles . . .he also cited and took out of context 1 John 2:27 that says you have no need that any one should teach you . . .Dave Hunt admitted that he doesnt need the interpretation of the Early Church Fathers even if they knew the Apostles . . .he said It does not make them infallible. . . BUT HE BELEVED THAT THE BIBLE TELLS HIM THAT HE HAS A RESPONSIBILITY to go to the Word of God to READ it, UNDERSTAND it and INTEPRET it by HIMSELF (infallibly?) and NOT GO TO the Early Church Fathers . . .then he went on to wrongly say that Karl Keating who is a Catholic Apologist quotes the bible sometimes but very little. He relies mainly upon the Early Church Fathers . . .so that IF THE EARLY CHURCH FATHERS WERE NOT INFALLIBLE even THOSE WHO WERE TAUGHT DIRECTLY BY THEM such as Polycarp by the Apostle John . . .Clement of Rome by the Apostle Peter . . , is Dave Hunts private interpretation of the bible BETTER and NOT SUBJECT TO ERROR? . . . youtu.be/_YPdQbM9K-E
