QUESTION: Would/should you send you send food back to be cooked - TopicsExpress

QUESTION: Would/should you send you send food back to be cooked for longer, even if its supposed to be this way? I ordered $40 Wagyu beef last night at dinner and it was so fresh I felt like it had come in from the farm a few minutes earlier. Unfortunately, I simply couldnt eat it. I never, ever send things back, but this was ridiculous, especially for $40. The waiter rolled his eyes and insisted it was supposed to be like this (clearly I was a fool not to appreciate it) and the restaurant could not take responsibility for it being worthless if I insisted on having it cooked for a minute longer. Despite being on the brink of asking whether hed like to me to sign away all my rights as a restaurant go-er, I ended up apologising profusely. But I still asked for the meat to be cooked a little longer. More eye rolling and reluctance but he took it away, under sufferance. When the meal was returned, it was nice. Edible and pleasant. But the taste of embarrassment remained in my mouth, and I feel like an idiot for apologising. THOUGHTS? Natasha xx PS. Perhaps after the Michael Kors thing, and now this, I should just stay at home??
