QUESTIONS ABOUT HEALTHCARE: lets say you are a 28-year-old male - TopicsExpress

QUESTIONS ABOUT HEALTHCARE: lets say you are a 28-year-old male making minimum wage and qualify for a 75% subsidy. Your normal payment would be $200 per month but you only have to pay $50. Does that mean you just mail in $50 each month to the insurance company and they have to collect the balance from the government or are you responsible for the $200 payment and get refunded the $150? Most people living from paycheck to paycheck have trouble maintaining monthly payments. What if he keeps his policy for four months and then gets behind and quits paying? Can he just rock along for five months and start paying again? Is his policy canceled after 30 days of nonpayment? Who keeps up whether his policy is in force? ALSO most of these policies have huge deductibles. Does anyone seriously expect this person to pay those out-of-pocket deductibles? Sounds like he would go back emergency room just like old times.
