QUESTIONS RUNNING THRU MY HEAD: As a retired educator, I wonder about the application of this test. Does it apply to all students? What of those in Special Ed or those with an individual education plan? Are there other pass it or else tests with such rigid dramatic repercussions? Is there a class to be added to students days focusing totally on the content of this test? Assuming the responsibility of teaching to the test falls within the curriculum of Social Studies, will Social Studies teachers be evaluated against the pass/fail percentages of all students? With the obvious need to adjust curriculum to make room for the specific test subject matter, what would be pulled from the current subject matter to allow for it to be fit into the school day? Would a straight A student who fails be required to repeat an entire school year or simply take a concentrated summer school course and be tested repeatedly until the student passes? How would this effect all plans and preperations (i.e. early admission applications) students must go through to apply and gain admission to college? Lastly, who in the field of education, weighed in on formulating this law? Whats their background and whats their expertise?
