QUICK UPDATE on our comrade #FreeSaitMattyJaw. I want to assure you that a group of committed colleagues in The Gambia are working hard behind the scenes on the ground to ensure his safety & release. For strategic & tactical reasons, we wld like explore non-combative options for a negotiated release. I know that as activists, we are often tempted to jump into full battle in such cases of unacceptable injustice. But again, this is The Gambia. It is not every approach or action that can have the intended outcome. Many of the actions that work elsewhere could in fact be counter productive- jeopardizing the safety of our brother. So lets remain thoughtful & strategic with our actions. By all means, continue to show solidarity with Sait- but lets limit the attacks. Trust me, when ibecomes necesary to FIGHT for our brother, WE WILL FIGHT. His safety shld be priority in all we do for him. Thank you all & plz be on stand-by for any UPDATES & ACTION ALERTS... *M
