QUIET CLOCK, THE MUSICAL - CASTING NOTICE A2K Productions, LLC and Weathervane Playhouse in Newark, Ohio announce the opening of the new children’s musical, Quiet Clock, The Musical. Auditions will be held by appointment only during the first week of September. Please send an email submission with resume, headshot and cover letter to auditions@a2kproductions for consideration. Quiet Clock, The Musical will premiere at Stage 72 in New York City on October 6, 2013. Performances are currently scheduled for every Sunday afternoon at 1:00 & 3:00pm through December 22nd. Rehearsals: Run all day on Saturday and Sunday September 21st and 22nd and run during the evenings the following two weeks between 5 and 10PM. Performances: Every Sunday at 1PM & 3PM October 6th thru December 22nd. CHARACTER BREAKDOWN Female Roles MRS. YAWNS (supporting/ensemble): alto. 30’s-40’s, quirky wife of the inventor, Mr. Yawns, she is constantly complaining and irritated by the fact that she is woken up early. Doubles as ensemble female character. CATHARINE / GYPSY GIRL (lead): strong belt/mix. 20’s -30’s, girlfriend of the inventor’s assistant, Marco, and doubles as the Gypsy Girl who steals the clock from Marco and Mr. Yawns. Attractive, trusting young lady who can play both the reassuring partner and the swindling cheater. Male Roles MR. YAWNS (lead): tenor. 30’s-40’s, quirky, innocent, simple inventor who invents a new alarm clock and has many ideas and quirks. Is a simple fellow with many mannerisms that give him a sort of naïve outlook on the world around him. MARCO (supporting): baritone. 20’s – 30’s, naïve young assistant to the inventor, Mr. Yawns, who is always looking for a way to be of help although he lacks the confidence to start off on his own. CLOCKMAKER (supporting): non-singing role. 30’-50’s, an excited older man with the energy of someone twenty years younger who is always looking for the next big thing. Speaks in constant rhyme without knowing it. LUMBERJACK / PRESIDENT (supporting/ensemble): baritone. 20’-30’s, strong confident man with booming vocal strength and over-the-top characterizations of a lumberjack and president of the USA. VILLAGERS/ENSEMBLE: 1 male and 1 female ensemble roles: fill in as the villagers, secret service and townsfolk and chorus. quietclockthemusical/
