Conservatives and liberals have a very different understanding of the word “freedom.” To conservatives, freedom is having the ability to pursue one’s own interests, and the opportunity to achieve as much success as possible. To liberals, however, freedom means using the power of government to redistribute wealth and ultimately achieve equal outcome. Not only is this concept out of touch with the Framers’ intent, but it is also utterly impossible. The idea that government can make the people achieve the same amount of success, earn the same amount of money, and end up in the same social class is simply nonsensical. This utopian society that the progressives dream of creating is nothing but a fantasy that can exist only in their minds, but yet for some reason, they keep trying. They keep telling us that if we just give up a little bit more of our liberty and just continue to redistribute the wealth, then this utopian society can be created - that is the biggest lie of them all.
