Qatar Petroleum sponsors the 31st IASP World Conference Qatar Petroleum (QP) is the “Silver Sponsor” of the 31st International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP) World Conference, which is currently ongoing until October 22 at the Qatar National Convention Centre. Hosted by the Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), the annual event brings together science and technology parks (STP) professionals from all over the world, industry experts, technology developers as well as delegates from the public and private sectors. This year’s event marks the first time ever that the IASP World Conference is held in the Middle East region, since the launching of the event in 1984.In line with its theme “Science Parks: Where Technology Goes to Work,” the conference programme focuses mainly on the important role of STPs as catalysts for technological developments as well as the value of close cooperation between universities and companies. As part of its sponsorship of the event, QP has an exhibition stand on the sidelines of the conference, and it prominently showcases the corporation’s extensive operations as well as the activities of its Research and Technology Department. The Qatar Petroleum Research and Technology Center (QPRTC), which is based in QSTP, is involved in a diverse range of research projects in collaboration with its partners in the industry and academia. Its research activities focus, among others, on acid stimulation, carbon dioxide (CO2) storage, oil fingerprinting, acid gas removal, tyre safety, oil-in-water treatment, and rapid petroleum profiling. قطر للبترول ترعى المؤتمر العالمي الـ31 لرابطة واحات العلوم والتكنولوجيا الدولية حصلت قطر للبترول على الرعاية الفضية للمؤتمر العالمي الحادي والثلاثين لرابطة واحات العلوم والتكنولوجيا الدولية المنعقد حاليا في الدوحة حتى تاريخ22 أكتوبر الحالي في مركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات. يجمع هذا المؤتمر السنوي الذي تستضيفه واحة العلوم والتكنولوجيا في قطر عددا من المختصين العاملين في واحات العلوم والتكنولوجيا من كافة أنحاء العالم، والخبراء في هذا المجال والمعنيين بتطوير التكنولوجيا بالإضافة إلى وفود تمثل عددا من المؤسسات المعنية من القطاعين العام والخاص. ومما يميز الحدث في هذا العام أنها المرة الأولى التي يعقد فيها هذا المؤتمر العالمي في منطقة الشرق الأوسط منذ انطلاقه في عام 1984. يعقد المؤتمر تحت شعار واحات العلوم: أين تلقى التقنيات تطبيقاتها؟ ولذلك يركز برنامج المؤتمر بشكل رئيسي على الدور الهام لواحات العلوم والتكنولوجيا كحافز للتطورات التكنولوجية وكعامل مؤثر وذي قيمة يسهم في تعزيز التعاون بين الجامعات والشركات. وتتميز رعاية قطر للبترول لهذا المؤتمر بتخصيص جناح لها في المعرض المصاحب للمؤتمر، حيث تعرض من خلاله عددا من العمليات الشاملة للمؤسسة بالإضافة إلى الأنشطة الخاصة بإدارة الأبحاث والتكنولوجيا في قطر للبترول. ويجدر بالذكر أن مركز قطر للبترول للأبحاث والتكنولوجياومقره في واحة قطر العلوم والتكنولوجيا يشارك بأعمال البحث العلمي لمجموعة متنوعة من المشاريع بالتعاون مع شركائه من القطاعين الصناعي والأكاديمي. وتركز أنشطة الأبحاث التي يقوم بها ، إلى جانب أمور أخرى، على التحفيز الحمضي لآبار النفط والغاز، وتخزين ثاني أكسيد الكربون، وتحليل الخصائص النفطية، ونزع الغازات الحمضية من الغازات الطبيعية، وسلامة الإطارات، وتنظيف المياه من البقايا النفطية ، والتوصيف النفطي السريع .
