Qatar won over Chinese Taipei to the score of 71-68. Hence, this solidifies the chances of our Gilas Team to top bracket E. If the Nationals win over the Hongkong Team later, then it becomes official. Since we have a superior quotient over Qatar then we get the first place in our own grouping, that is of course, assuming we displaced the Hongkong squad. Now being the no. 1 we will be facing the no. 4 seed in the other bracket which will likely be Kazakhstan in the knockout stage. On the other hand, Qatar (no. 2 in bracket E) gets to play against China (no. 3 in bracket F). Chinese Taipei (no. 3 in bracket E) will fight against South Korea (no. 2 in bracket F). Lastly, Jordan (no. 4 in bracket E) will require all the support they can get in order to upset powerhouse Iran (no.1 in bracket F). With the way our team is playing lately, they will have no problem in overcoming Hongkong later. And, I think we will have a better chance against Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals than facing a depleted line-up of China- which remains to be a dangerous team even without their main man Yi Jianlian.
