Quadri centenial babies AN OPEN LETTER This is an open letter for you. You know who you are. This, I hope, you will read and comprehend. Here are the things I believe you need to understand: ( I would have spoken to you about this personally however seeing your tweets make me realize that you might have had a hard time in comprehending the matter) 1. We are all for the faithful representation of any data-especially if it is relevant data. We do not condone the article written- we simply wanted you to rethink and amend the words used for they were offensive and misleading. A. Due to a shift in curriculum, there were no graduates in the BSA program last year. B. The terms repeaters and delayed graduates were a little out of place in that paragraph dont you think? The article could stand on its own without the need to say that sentence. But what has been written has been published. 2. Though the article caused a little talk, it did little to inflame us as compared to your tweet Quick tip: pass the boards so that the @varsitarianust can produce a positive output. We are not here to sugarcoat you if your college fails. A. Passing the boards does not equal to the school paper producing positive output. Surely any good writer can make a positive work out of the most negative news. It is all in the usage and placement of words. B. What was your basis for your tip? Surely you have had quite the experience in everything in life for you to give out tips addressed to a whole college you dont even belong to? 3. Probably a hundred tweets to you (which I admit may be in the form of attacks) would have given you an idea that somewhere along the way you made a mistake. You, however, neglect to recognize this and fueled the issue further by replying to the tweets as if you can never be wrong. Humility goes a long way, Madam. You do not just go about replying to tweets (especially those of a well respected Professor and Attorney) arrogantly. You had the power to end the issue there and then but you chose to let this be a going concern for all of us which, to be honest, only aggravated the situation. Right or wrong, Madam, you need to be humble, most especially because you are under the spotlight. There are always means to defend your view without being arrogant. Lastly, I apologize in behalf of those who misunderstood and who wrongly attacked you. It was the accumulated frustration that lead to the comments-whether true or not- that were stated. This is not the age of an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. This is the age where we grow up and learn from the mistakes we commit to be better as a community.
