Qualified Muslim astronomers and reliable visibility forecasts indicate that on Monday evening, July 8th a naked-eye sighting of the new crescent moon will be extremely improbable in all global regions, with the exception of the remote South Pacific where sightings are possible but highly unlikely. If the moon is not seen Monday, July 8th, on Tuesday evening, July 9th the moon should be easily visible throughout much of the world marking the beginning of Ramadan with its first day of fasting on Wednesday, July 10th.
