Quantum mechanics, to me, is a language through which science and spirituality can begin to use the same vocabulary; however, the deeper I delve, the more I reject certain popular conclusions. I frequently encounter the idea that time and space are illusion--an interpretation of that which we cannot comprehend. But, if all reality is intention, than it seems to follow that this is an intentional illusion; a system, I believe, for refinement. If it is choice which defines each of us and our physical reality, then I cannot bring myself to accept the notion of a multi-verse in which all possibility exists. What is the purpose of choice if there exists another me, somewhere, who has made every opposite and horrible choice imaginable (or who does not exist at all)? If this is the case, then the sum of existence is neutrality, and lacking the mathematical ability to reason why that rings false, I must go with my gut that existence is more than some inane and arbitrary playing out of everything that could ever be. This concept to me, is the beginning. This is the cosmic soup that was until the first intention occurred. The process that has snowballed from that moment is a slow and methodical widdling away of the possibilities available, until eventually, there is only one choice to be made in every possible scenario. Enlightenment is the recognition of the formula of truth--a knowledge that cannot be forsaken or ignored. Once grasped, it could only be called madness, a complete and deliberate divergence from logic, to move in an opposite direction. I believe there is an end goal to our physical reality. A pure singularity where the only answers are the right answers. This is God. This is Nirvana, Valhalla... Heaven.
